Groupon now is a mix of Foursquare specials and Google Wallet

Groupon is changing. It is now proposing more flexible service for companies.  The commercial states:

  • You can start a special whenever you want (for example, you have free tables or low season).
  • You can end a special whenever you feel it is time to.

Sounds much better than daily deals when you had to wait for your "big coupon day" and be overwhelmed with customer visits.

On the user site the app looks like a mixture of Foursquare Specials and Google Wallet payment procedure. See a variety of mobile apps they are proposing.

250+ video channels to watch with Denso

If you ever used Flipboard for reading and discovering content you will love Denso. The concepts are similar but Denso handles the video world.

The app has new movie clips (from Dreamworks, Sony Pictures and Apple Trailers), technology and worldwide news from CNN, The Economist or Guardian. Other categories are Business, Living, Music or Cool (lots of them) — to have this variety on your iPhone, iPad or Android just install the Denso app.

You can also link your Denso account with your Facebook or Twitter account. The app will show you recommended videos from your friends and followers.

If you see an interesting video in a browser and want to watch it later on your iPhone just clip it with a Denso bookmarklet and open it later on your iDevice.

"You tell us what you want to watch, and Denso provides the freshest videos in the most relevant channels available. Denso is designed to be lightweight and cross-platform, so you can watch video on-the-go."

Forbes named Dropbox the hottest startup

"The 50-million-user figure is up threefold from a year ago, and it has solved the “freemium” riddle, with revenue on track to hit $240 million in 2011 despite the fact that 96% of those users pay nothing. With only 70 staffers, mostly engineers, Dropbox grosses nearly three times more per employee than even the darling of business models, Google." Source Forbes

Dropbox for me is a personal file cloud that I can connect to from my iPad, iPhone or desktop. I love their service. But what happens next with emergence of the iCloud?

Facebook lacks privacy and intimacy? Path is the answer

We are absolutely going mobile. New social networks now appear firstly for iOS and Android. And never go desktop.

Path is a new way to share life to a limited circle of people. It can be compared in some way with circles on Google + and Smart Lists on Facebook. You can read and see photos only from limited number of  people. But when you post...Everyone who is named your "friend" sees it. That's bad because you want privacy more and more.

Path is your life timeline by invites created by former Facebook and Apple employee Dave Morin. You can subscribe to his posts on Facebook :) if you are interested.

I absolutely love the promo video by Path.
